i think that sabine and i had a pretty similar day leading up to the big road trip. lots to finish up at the office, lots of errands to run out of the office, appointments, laundry, packing, and sleep.

we should have known the day was going to be rough- an almost accident from ms. lola on sabo's bed and a realization from cullen after an 8am errand that the bso's parking lots were, in fact, all closed.

the day progressed however, and after running from place to place it seemed as though things were getting wrapped up. until, after a lateish hair cut and quick bite for dinner, we realized that we'd still not booked our rental car and our collective projects to finish up at the office were probably the most cumbersome. we dashed back to the office to book the car and get to work when sabine's realization that she'd neglected to renew her license was going to be a larger issue than first thought due to the fact that cullen does not have a credit card and the rental company requires the person renting the car to have a valid license. oye.

panic stricken, we started looking at flight options between cities or what our other options might be. thankfully, after some haggling, we made a reservation in cullen's name that (fingers crossed) will not be a problem (the indian gentlemen on the other end of the line was slightly less than convincing). onward and upward, we raced to get out of the hall and home to get our lives together. laundry for cullen was the first casualty. wasn't going to happen. thankfully, friends and relatives along the way have washers and driers and i had enough to get by.

sabine got out of the office around 11:45pm and cullen closely followed around 12:15am-- hence this post's picture. it was taken when ki picked me up and i was on my way home... with packing in front of me and the realization that the morning promised another trip to the office some final things.

we both got to bed around 3:30am. our flight takes off tomorrow at 11:35am... and as we end the day:
